The Great Penguin Caper of Stonemark
Annual City Wide Contest

Restarted a few years ago, the Great Penguin Caper of Stonemark is a morale boosting annual festivity that attracts attention from across the kingdom. Originally, the event was created back in Arik during a time of similar strife.

The Lord of Markshire sends out criers all across the kingdom inviting people to attend the event. Merchants line the streets and sell all of their fascinating wares. Children wear hats and run around with their prized penguin dolls. All kinds of food is prepared or cooked and the city smells wonderful.

Then the big event occurs… the Penguin Caper itself. Lord Mark gathers the contestants in the Temple of Odin and personally hands out the implements needed to participate, a snow globe.

You see, the Caper is to catch as many of the magically created penguins as possible in the time allotted. The penguins are phantasms created by the Mages of Markshire and they run loose ALL OVER the city. They do run; as fast and as far as they can go away from the contestants.

Contestants must use their snow globe on the magical penguins in order to capture it. At the end of the event each of the contestants are magically transported back to the Temple of Odin and their snow globes are examined. Inside each globe are the penguins the contestant captured.

The one with the most penguins wins a grand award. The winner of this contest may ask the Lord of Markshire for anything. If after suitable consultation, the request is something that can actually be accomplished it is granted. Past prizes have included an amazing longsword for Tyian Hlae'Tlithar, priestess of Tyr and a redoubtable bow for Dram Toss.

Who will win this year?
